Creating module or modifying the core

Hello,

we need to change/add some functionalities to the prestashop (really its core). For example, to change the registration page fields or add some behavior or change the registration flow (or any other changes that we want). 

What is the best practice?

- creating new module to add this functionality

- or modifying the prestashop core

Hello Hessam.

Our practice in Prestashop says that always is better to create a module. If you modify core, it's possible that you lose modifications in future Prestashop updates.
