Guest Carts created

Recommended Posts

Ihave searched and found a lot of topics asking to allow guest to see and view, however, this is the opposite, is there anywhere i can modify or change unregistered customers to see the products but not have them be able to "add to Cart"

I just cleaned up all the carts from guests, that i am assuming are only adding to cart to annoy, and although they can add to cart they have to register to complete the order, but i am looking at not having them add to cart, browse yes but it is tedious to find a bunch of carts that were just created, and no completed transactions...

I waited for awhile and today January 31, i see another lot of cart orders made by unregistered guests this is looking to be a a rampant problem, as it is bothersome.

Sorry cannot help you with your problem but will you tell me how you cleaned your carts lists?

I just looked at customers>carts and have over 3000 carts for unregistered guests. I cannot see how to clear them though as there is no tick box and delete in this section.

I will be pleased when 1.4 is finally released and a guest module can be used,as I am sure sales will increase when they do not have to register.

hope somebody can help with your problem

thanks

Barry

Hi barry follow this step
Go to adminorders.php @ admin/tabs/……………

under $this->colorOnBackground = true;

add this line $this->delete = true;

you can delete all orders you want!…

$this->colorOnBackground = true;
$this->delete = true;

the last will say false needs to be set to true so once set to true you can have the option to delete the abandoned guest carts

Many of the guest carts are probably generated by search engines.
I have posted code on the forum to prevent search engines from adding to the cart (can't recall the thread of the top of my head)

I think that limiting people to register before adding to the cart may hurt your sales, even if you lose 1 sale a month over it, is it really worth it?

Thanks for your help and comments they really are appreciated.

My site has been only in exsistance since December and I already have 3785 carts created and not 1 sale. I must have issues on my site and I am desperately trying to find why.

According to my awstats I am getting plenty of visitors, about 160 day. and some are spending a fair amount of time on the site. The prestashop stats does not work.
One of the things I am wondering is whether people do not want to register, I never want to, so a guest cart is worth trying. I have only got 1 registered customer.

It is getting frustrating now, but I am not giving up as I have made great strides in three months.
