1.4.0.10 freeze!

Recommended Posts

I,ve tried to install 1.4.0.8 on my commercial host. The installer did not freeze (I'am happy) and I can log in at the admin section. But front shop is not reachable. Safari error: " can not be opened because there are too many redirects occurred"

yes I'm facing the same problem with 1.4.10 RC1, it was a clean install on my local WAMP server, in the step 3, after pressing the next button I observe that the tables are all created in the database but that page stays there, and we cant proceed to step4. I tried dropping all the tables and clicking on the "next" button again but it still does not work and stays at step 3 even though the tables are all created in the DB.

any help?

I'm also incurring the freezing at step 3. Links to database, sends test email. Next > nothing. Database tables are created but can't proceed to step 4.

shop home page has prestashop image.
admin home page has message:
For security reasons, you cannot connect to the Back Office until after you have:

- deleted the /install folder
- renamed the /admin folder (eg. /admin637)

Please then access this page by the new url (eg. http://www.domain.tld/admin637)

Has it actually installed?????? properly?????

Obviously have no admin username or password setup

If keep your existing store running is very import (for example, it is already in service and have orders every day), I suggest do as following. This is what I have been doing and I think it is safe that you will not loose any order.

1. keep your existing store running until, new store is up and tested OK
2. create a new store by duplicating your existing store with whole copy of code and databasse
3. upgrade your duplicated store to new version that you target
4. when your new upgraded store tested OK, then stop existing store, and back it up for future reference.
5. change new store folder and the URL of new store
