database or upgrade issue?

I have upgraded to version 1.3.5 and I can see some problema on my shop, which is using Elementh theme.

1) clearly there are some products but in the backoffice it says "no product found in category"
2) if I try to add a product, the "manufacturers" drop list is empty

other issues may follow. thank you for looking into this
