ramblingrose
There is a htaccess.txt file which you should rename to .htaccess. The rewrite rules have changed and using a .htaccess file from an older installation does not work fully with 1.1b3
Nakano
I got the same problem. Well, somewhat.I couldn't get pass stage 2. The progress bar's animation starts, but it gets stuck there. Won't upgrade, or so it seems. Everything refered previously was done. In fact, if I go to the installed data and script, now I get an Internal Server Error on the final stage of the order placement. What gives?

Nakano
Put the files on the server, run /install-dev, choose upgrade in the first screen instead of full installation. BUT, as I said, I experience a hanging...

Nakano
A minor update regarding this issue: with the latest build (1.1 Final), upgrading stopped hanging. Great job, Prestateam!
bykrmom
I'm trying to upgrade to the final release of 1.1 and it's hanging at the 3rd stage. I am not liking this at all. What could I look at to see why it hangs there? I am not using the htaccess files at all.
Nakano
Try check if the new file permissions are OK (I know this happens to me when I upload files to my account). If not, check this
