Changing Homefeatured Dimensions

Howdy,

My question is how do you change the homefeatured dimensions, as of now they're 4 products that are skinny but relatively tall. How do you go about adjusting this?

I've looked into homefeatured.tpl and edited a few lines, specifically

{assign var='liHeight' value=342}

with no change. I've also edited the line:

{assign var='nbItemsPerLine' value=1}

with the same results (from 4 to 1). Any insight on how to edit the dimensions and why my changes to the tpl aren't taking affect would be appreciated.
