snack
I am trying to set up a web store for a business that sells used music equipment. Most of what they sell is large and fragile (it's really more like an antique store than guitar center or something). For this reason, it's very hard to estimate shipping cost before the item is packed. And since this is a brick-and-mortar store, these items are on the floor -- they can't be packed up before they're sold.So my problem is that I need to be able to calculate shipping after the item sells, and then add it into the total and re-invoice. Prestashop is unique among the CMS solutions that I've seen, in that you can create new types of order "status" -- So I could create two new ones:1) congratulations -- You checked out! but we still need to send you a shipping quote...2) here's your shipping quote -- but you still need to agree to paymentThis is a step in the right direction. But I'm still wondering how hard it would be change the usual order flow, so that these will be used, and so that the second one could include an invoice & link back to payment portal. Has anyone done anything like this?
mmreed
have you found a way to do this?I need something similar - flat rate shipping to the US, and have the order created, but not paid for the rest of the world - where I contact them with a shipping quote.
