Screen price not changing when attribute selected.

Recommended Posts

Hello all,
I am very new to prestashop and currently converting my old website over to prestashop. I have only added two items but I notice a problem I think. My products have three attributes (1oog, 500g & 1kg) each with different pricing.
When an attribute is selected, the on screen price (above the drop down) does not change to reflect the item selected, but if I check out, the cart is showing the correct amount for the item added. I am not sure if it has something to do with the way my attributes are set up, but have spent several hours on this and have not solved it. I am using prestashop vers1.3.1.1.
Thanks for any suggestions, it is much appreciated.

Geoff

Hi there, Yes I have only just started to use prestashop, so am really new to this application, even though I have done several shops before using different software. I just can't get the pricing working properly, it just wont update the screen with the attribute price and has become a real headache as I cant proceed any further till I can work this out. It is a strange problem, as I have 3 themes installed, the original + 2 free themes and it wont work in any, so don't think it is a theme problem. I use firefox 3.6.13, and am now thinking it could be a browser problem, yet no-one else seems to have this problem. I will be checking it in IE & chrome probably tomorrow when I get time, and I will let you know if this is the cause. At the moment I have spent over 2 days trying everything I can think of and am at a deadend, and I suppose if I can't get this thing working I will have to go back to my old software package which I really don't want to do.

Hello

I have just upgraded to 1.4.0.17. Thought I had fixed all the problems it had caused but found a new one similar to yours.

I have tried this with IE and Firefox, yet any combination that affects the price does not show until you add to basket. I think this needs to be fixed as it kinda misleads customers.

Another problem in IE is when the user clicks on the drop down to select an option it doesn't expand the box so basically the customer can't see the whole of the options, only about 10 chnaracters so again this will cause problems because the customer won't be able to select and see the options.

Did you manage to fix this or figure anything out?

Hi there, You seem to be having the exact problem I had. Luckily I had only just began to build new site, so after days & days of trying to fix this including trying to upgrade, with NO success, I decided to do a fresh re-install from scratch. The very first thing I did was to add a product with attributes and test it out. It works fine now, so I can only assume that maybe something went wrong on the initial install. As for the character problem, my attributes are only short words, so I have not experienced this. Sorry I can't be of any great help, maybe someone else can help you out.
Regards
Geoff

Hi Nutman
Thanks for the post
I really woukd rather not do a fresh install as have many products and I have manually changed some of the template files etc and when I did the initial upgrade it was a right pain to get it all back to how it was.

Did you find a solution to this.?

Not sure if maybe fresh upload of a particular file(s) that handle this part of the software might fix the problem?
