Is this possible?

Lets say I have 4 different products, witth the same price. One cost 10 USD, I would like to give an discount so if you buy 2 products (of the 4 different) the price will be 8 USD. Is this possible?

I'd like to know whether this is possible too. It's a very common marketing tactic and it'll be good to have thos flexibility for all users.

Another thought: Can we do this using the combinations feature?

Base price for specific product = 10 USD
Then for combinations: Product A + Product B = 16 USD (averages to $8 per item).
That means we have to duplicate the combinations for each product.

Is there a way to link or group products for such discounts other than using the Pack option or creating another product (2 different products together as a set) since that can only provide 1 combination?

You can use the Quantity discount option, by default, it applies to only one product, and 1 attribute (if present).

I posted a modification that lets you apply the quantity discount to all the products in the same default category, regardless of attributes.

I can't really figure out what to do, should I just replace the code exactly as you have written, or should I edit something ? For instance
'p1.id_product' - should I replacebe this with the name of one of the products I would like to apply the discount on?

Exactly as written, the discount will apply to all the product (is the same default category) that share the exact same discount.
