Top links not working on topmenu

The top link on my menu dont work anymore.
They were fine and now all point to the root menu

See pic... E-Cigarette Kits used to go the the kits menu and show all products from the child menus.

Now it just goes back to homepage

 

Any ideas why as I can recall altering anything that should affect the menu

any ideas on this.
I have tried replacing the theme file with the unaltered default one and the top links are still pointing to /.

This is on version 1.7.2, and also my wip site running 1.7.4.1

Ive still not resolved this, but a strange thing is happening.

When i turn on "Debug mode", the top menu links work fine again, Then turn "Debug off" again and the top links dont work ?

I cant leave debug on because i get some errors in the back office.

Any ideas

Is there a setting somewhere I may have altered that disables these top links ?

I have just copied my 1.7.2 site, put the default theme back and upgraded to 1.7.4.2 and the links are still not working ?

Does anybody know what file controls the building of the links on the topmenu ?
Ill try replacing that to see if something is corrupt.
