Step 3, Database issue.

Recommended Posts

i have uploaded contents of 'prestashop' to the root directory. before , when i went to the root directory, it automatically went to "/install'. I then proceeded until step 3, at some point in time it said "settings.in.php" blabla, i created the file, it was already writable, then i went back to it, it was no longer the issue. I typed in the database server name, it was wrong at first, i had to fill it with the form xxx.hostedresource.com , and not just 'localhost' , some suggestions are to replace it with the IP, but it didn't work. after i filled in and clicked verify, it said 'database is connected' , but above that it still said 'you have to create a database"
i click on next several times, and nothing happens.
i read some threads and it said to 'add user' by clickingh on 'privileges' through myphpadmin. but there's no 'privileges' on my myphpadmin. my host is godaddy.

Hi,

First of all you don't have to create the settings.inc.php file, it will be created automatically.

Then, you should start from 0 again, I mean: delete your files, your database, download PrestaShop again (latest 1.3.x or 1.4.x if it's for testing purposes) and install it again.

For the MySQL host you can use the one given in phpMyAdmin by GoDaddy.

Regards,
