Tried moving to new server and new verision

Recommended Posts

Hi! I have to move my installation to a new server and would like to upgrade to the new version at the same time. I have uploaded the new version to the new server and then copied the following folders from my old installation :

img
themes
modules
mail

I then copied the SQL database over to the new server and updated the settings.inc file.

I have also uploaded my settings.inc file as instructed. I then visited 'mywebsite.com/prestashop/install' as advised and then selected upgrade as it has noticed the previous installation.

I now have a few problems - the new site doesn't show any pics and isn't formatted correctly. The links don't work and i am unable to log into the back office.

If you want to see, the link of the new installation is at www.gsnetsites.co.uk/dorsethomebrew/shop I also tried just moving the old shop over and the same problem occurs - this is hosted at www.gsnetsites.co.uk/dorsethomebrew/shop_old

I am not sure what i have missed. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi! I haven't enabled SSL. I didn't on the old server. I can now manage to log into the back office (not sure what I did but i played around with cookies). I have regenerated the .htaccess file thinking it was something to do with that but its not fixed it. Any ideas?!

Right... discovered what happened..... I think. I transferred all the new files to a subfolder in my www folder on the new server. e.g mydomainname/shop so that when I set up domain redirection and point it to the folder it would work. I don't think prestashop likes subfolders. My next question is that some of the images aren't displaying. Any ideas? its a straight download and upload so don't know why they are missing.
