[Solved] Using remotehost mail server

I wish to use a remote email host (ie not on the prestashop host). How can i do this??

I believe i would need to change some of the php in one of the modules.

Any advice gratefully accepted

I have found a setup screen under preferences so am now able to look at this option.

 

I am running apache as localhost on my desktop and getting a feel for the package. I hope to use gmail as a remote smtp server for testing.

 

I installed vertrigo (wamp) on the desktop, very easy to install and runs well.

 

So far no issues with prestashop apart from me not knowing where to look in the admin area!!!

Welcome to the PrestaShop Forum.  (Nice name, by the way. )

 

Glad you got the e-mail host problem sorted.

 

We've tried to make the admin area as intuitive to use as possible, but there is always a learning curve with any new piece of software.

 

We are in the process of updating all our documentation in preparation for the release of our first official stable version, v1.0, in a few weeks.  Hopefully you'll be able to find useful information there.

 

And of course there's always the Forum here to help you should have any additional issues.
