how do i copy products onto a differen website?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a website e.g. ali1.com and there are products on that website which i would also like to add to another website ali2.com

how can i do this? what is the simplest method for somebody who does not know much about programing.

Both websites run prestashop and both are running different versions of prestashop but they are both on the same server.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I have the same problem. I am running two stores. I do not want to do a fresh install and move my other full database over because I will lose my current customers information on my other store. I have tried this and the password key is different and the customer can not get back into their account. So I reinstalled the database backup and I am back at the beginning.

I have added a lot of products and it has taken many hours to get everything updated and I do not want to do this twice. What do I need to do to move over all of the attributes, products, seo, descriptions and images etc... so everything moves over and works correctly on the other store.

The store that has all of the new products is www.rollerderbyshop.com and the store I need to import the products to is www.bigdogskates.com. They are both live shops and I need to do this without as much interruption as possible.

I have searched and read many posts on this but I have not found an answer that directly answers this.

Please help.

Well I have finally figured this out after months of banging my head on the wall, thanks to Tomer at www.presto-changeo.com I bought his Database Backup Module http://www.presto-changeo.com/prestashop-modules/37-automatic-prestashop-backup.html and Tomer instructed me to do the following. First buy the module and then proceed!

1) install the module on old shop

2) created a backup of only the mentioned tables.
"then in the old shop, you should backup any tables with "product / category / attribute / feature / image / manufacturer / supplier" in it's name"

3) install module on new shop

4) create full backup of new shop.

5) copy the partial backup from old shop /prestashopbackup/backups to the same folder in the new shop

6) restore the old backup in the new shop

7) copy the images from /img/c, /img/p, and /img/co from the old site to the new.

If you have anymore questions Tomer is always willing to help. I highly recommend this!
