How to make tax update dynamically in PS 1.3.2 ?

Hello!

Happy New year! I have searched in every way I could to figure out how to get the tax in both the cart module and shopping cart summary to update in real time as products are being added and removed from the cart. I have no issue with the calculation of the tax itself, other than the fact that it doesn't register and appear until after you click the "Check Out" button in the cart module. Even after logging in and refreshing the Shopping Cart Summary, I can't get the tax to calculate until the "Check Out" button is clicked. Once the button is clicked however, the tax updates in real time in both the cart module and cart summary as products are added to the cart until the user logs out.

I have been able to navigate and alter code decently so far, but I just don't know enough about how the .php files are functioning to manipulate them.

I will appreciate any help, hopefully this is an easy fix for the coding wiz's out there.
