mandrin
Hiya,I know there have some changes from PS 1.2.5 to PS 1.4 so that the "look and feel" modules might not work on the newer ver. That does not worry me as it's easy to make changes or find updated modules. So what I am ultimately wanting to know, it there going to be an easy way to transfer my products with full descriptions etc from 1.2.5 to the final ver of 1.4 when it's released?Regards,
rocky
Sure, just run the PrestaShop Installer and choose the "Update" option and it will upgrade your PrestaShop v1.2.5 database and products to PrestaShop v1.4.
jaimeweb
Hi Rocky, When i choose "Update", is this on a fresh installation on a new directory? And how does it know what to update? Do i download the SQL file from the old database? Does it transfer all attirubtes, products, customers, order etc??thanks Jaime
rocky
You copy config/settings.inc.php from your old website, which contains all the database details. When you run the PrestaShop v1.4.2 installer and choose the update option, it will update the database to the latest version, transferring all the old data in the process. jaimeweb
Hi, Just a follow up. I am going through that process rocky. I have came to the next upgrade page "disclaimer" which tells me that its going to take 1 min 21 seconds to upgrade. But my max_execution_time is 30 seconds. My php.ini file looks like this: expose_php = Off;max_execution_time = 990;max_input_time = 600;max_input_nesting_level = 64;memory_limit = 128M;Yet it still stays at 30 seconds. If i check my info php page it does say "max_execution_time 990"So i dont understand....Can anyone help? Thanks
rocky
Perhaps your host doesn't let you override PHP settings. Have you tried asking them for help to increase the max_execution_time?
