HOW2 edit footer Version 1.4xx!!!

PLEASE someone could tell me where or how to change or add something in the footer !

I am using Version 1.4 BETA and i tried to edtit /themes/prestashop/footer.tpl (and other files, too, but nothing´s working)

I want add some disclimer and my own VISITOR-COUNTER !!

Please NO "I think it must be there or similar to ..... " bla blas !!!

usually before body tag, but there is none ;P in the .tpl file ??
