In backoffice all products are enabled but on storefront says no products in category.

On Monday I was switching my domain to go directly into prestashop instead of our website. When I tried to do this the shop was no where to be found so I contacted hostgator to fix the problem. The hostgator tech was able to get the shop back up but there were no products displaying. After that he said I must contact prestashop about the problem. In my back office every product is still there, they are all enabled in the correct category. When you look at the store front under a category you will first see that it states "there are " products in this category, however, when you scroll down to see the products there is a yellow box that says there are no products in this category. But if you go down to the footer and click new products, or specials you will be able to view those products. I don't know what to do I have tried adding new categories and new products and still same problem. The new category will show and the number of products will change but I still get the box that reads there are none. I tried to find a place where I could hire someone to fix this but didn't find such a source. If anyone can help please I'm up to my neck in this spending hours upon hours trying to figure it out.
