Database server name at step 3

Recommended Posts

At step 3 of the instalation process, I keep getting the same error no matter what I try for the database server name. It just keeps saying:
Database server was not found. Please verify the login, password, and database server name fields.

My database server name in phpMyAdmin is localhost. I have a database with a username and password setup correctly. I can connect to it via mySql workbench remotely as well as phpMyAdmin as I said, but this install script keeps complaining. I have even tried to use my domain name for the server name. I tried the domain name with a :3306 at the end too. Nothing works. Shy of editing the install script myself, I am stuck.

The database using SQL authentication authentication. The Application Server uses native DB2 client connects using aliases. These aliases IBM Client Configuration Assistant, which DB2 for Windows NT program folder can be found in use are configured.

Does the user have to be root with no password or something?

You do need a password and user not necessary be "root"
It would be good if you check with your service provider for this as it depends on your hosting site.

Just another question : where are you installing your prestashop? local machine or hosting site
