Jersey postage problem

I have a Prestashop based site - pinsandthings.com - with free postage in the UK. Problem is someone from Jersey tried to buy a product, the system has not realised they are UK and shown £5.99 shipping, then returns error 'No payment modules have been installed yet' on the 'Payment' page.

Anyone know how to solve this. Looking at other threads it appears that the free postage can cause issues....

Hi

You have found a fundamental issue with PS - there has been a lot of debate on shipping to remote regions of the uk.

Ps does not have a solution for the uk. it seems lots have asked for a fix.

Various workarounds and code changes have been volunteered. suggest you try a few searches.

I have not risked trying any of the fixes yet - I am not a techie. but will have to do something when I go live.

Jersey is not 'in' the UK per se - it's a bit of a tax haven if anything - people purchasing from Jersey should also not pay VAT (@ 20% now).
You can set up a new zone (call it Jersey-UK or similar) and add the country 'Jersey' to it, then associate a shipping handler/price-weight matrix and payment gateways to that zone.
