Can not log in to admin

Hello everyone, I hope that someone can assist. I am new to php but through the installation of Wordpress, Magento and Joomla discovered that if you can read and follow instructions you should be able to make progress. I recently discovered Prestashop and it seems as if this could be the e-commerce solution that I have been looking for. I installed it on local host using Xampp and can succesfully visit the frontend of the product. My problem is that I can not get past the login page if I want to go to the back-end. It displays the login page and simply returns to it when I punch in my e-mail adress and password and click on connection.
Can someone also tell me how to go directly from the front-end to the back-end

I managed to resolve the issue by reverting back to my XP machine.
