Duplicate URL's in google tools

Hi

I am showing 79 not founds in Google tools errors. an example below. they are all like this error.

http://www.lynxlingerie.co.uk/accessories/www.lynxlingerie.co.uk/accessories/56-super-shiner-latex-wear-spray.html

It is duplicating the address and cat.

I am using 1.3.2.3. I have canonical module on and Friendly Urls.

Any idea what the problem is please

This is why you have an error in your re-direct. Did you use another shop-Software before, or an old presta not-firendly-url-forming version ? It yes, than you must revise your re-directs in .htaccess.

I only ever use prestashop and the site is only a few weeks old. I set the friendly URL before I entered the first product.

Not sure what you mean regarding re directs. Do you think it would be worth doing anyway.

I tried installing wordpress but before I did , I moved all my files to www.mydomain.co.uk/store

and installed wordpress to the root.

But then moved all my files from the folder store to the root again after deleting wordpress.

It seems that on .htaccess you have re-directs from WP. Some code fragments there is rewriting Presta wrong. Can you post your code from .htaccess to see what is not from presta ? You can also P it to me, if you don't want to show it public.

This is going to sound really dumb but here goes. I cannot find it.

I did post it into my Root folder I seem to remember but I am unable to see it. When I do a search it lists it but I cannot see the file.

Any ideas please

This is why your FTP-Program do not allow you to see this file type. Which FTP are you using ? Try Filezilla. It's free...

Check your sitemap for these URLs.

Did you, or are you using the Canonical URL module, as it can cause this issue (it was / is buggy)

Would your module sort it or is there another way to get another canonical module.

I checked you page live. I cannot see any link which is not proper forming. From where do you have the link named ? Google Webmaster tools ? It seems that you have changed something in links and did not redirected properly. If links are not formed properly you can let google delete it.

Sorry but I surfed your page and no links are incorrect, also .htaccess you sent me is ok.

The link in question is forming by this:
link rel="canonical" href="http://www.lynxlingerie.co.uk/accessories/56-super-shiner-latex-wear-spray.html">
and so also correct. Google must have indexed old fragments or old wrong re-directs. The best way to clear this is to delete it with webmaster tools.

I personally prefer the 301 redirect + the fix I posted in http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/74380/

Together they make sure that all the duplicate pages are hidden from search engines, while with a canonical tag, they may still get crawled and potentially indexed.

It won't help with double URLs you mentioned, but will help pretty much anything else.

I have know uninstalled the canonical module and installed Tomergs module.

I will keep people informed if this does the trick.

Make sure to also use the Fix posted in the link above, as it will remove the bad licks and prevent Search Engines from seeing them.

It can take 1-2 months for google to update all it's records...

Should have said that. I have installed the 4 files as part of the fix as well.

Although its nothing to do with Presatshop, can you clear the list of errors on webmaster tools to see what happens a lot clearer.

When I look at my webmaster tools it shows a list of 91 not founds.

They are all before I have done the changes above.

do you know if it possible to set the not founds to 0, so I can see clearer if it works.

Before I have used canonical module from which sold on Prestastore, the duplicate URL's have reduced from 400 to 200 in a week, 2nd week they come back to 400 and week after to 600. Have uninstalled the module and purchased your one. After one week already have 890 duplicate URL's...

Should I wait another 2 weeks or?

It takes 1-3 months for google to update all the URLs (assuming the module is installed correctly and working).

Don't know why but I've just noticed my 404 errors have quadrupled over the past couple of months, I now have over 1,420!!

I've purchased the latest Duplicate URL module from Tomer and installed (correctly) his SEO fix for version 1.3.2. I've uninstalled the canonical presta module as most people have suggested but the problem just seems to be getting bigger and bigger. Does anyone else have the same problems as me? Would be a bonus if someone could come up with any suggestions at this stage.

Those look like URLs from a buggy Canonical URL module.

I uninstalled the generic canonical module about 2 weeks ago but the crawl from Dec 25th has thrown up yet more 404 errors. This seems to be something that must be related to prestashop version 1.3.2 as I've read a few posts on this happening on this version but no one has yet resolved the problem even though it's been posted on the bug tracker.

I have a similar problem with not found pages in google tools. But my not found urls are of this type:
http://www.playxcool.com/11_toy-joy?n=iztmkhjxqgodul&p=7&orderby=position&orderway=ASC
I have installed canonical module anf friendly url.
I read there is a module called Duplicate URL redirect. This module could be the solution but it´s not free and i love free and open source.

My problem was in .htacces

RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)\_([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)(.*)$ /manufacturer.php?id_manufacturer=$1 [QSA,L,E]

Hi,

Just wanted everyone to know that my 404 errors and my duplicate meta tags in Google Webmaster are starting to reduce very quickly in the last few days after installing the duplicate URL module from Tomerg. This has been an absolute headache for me over the past couple of months so I would like to thank Tomerg for all his hard work in getting this module to the stage it's at and for finally solving the 404 error problem that a lot of us on version 1.3.2 have been experiencing.
