1.5.1.4 to 1.6.1 1-click upgrade throws error on Database backup jqXHR

I am trying to do a 1 click upgrade from 1.5.4.1 to the final 1.6 version.

When it gets to backing up the databaseI get this error:

Database backup: 206 table(s) left...[Ajax / Server Error for action backupDb] textStatus: "error " errorThrown:"Internal Server Error " jqXHR: " "

it seems that one table does get saved as it says:

Database backup: 206 table(s) left...ps_connections table has been saved.1 tables have been saved.Database backup: 206 table(s) left.

.I am with Bluehost on a shared server.

your database is likely rather large, and your shared hosting server is likely too restrictive for long running processes.  you might need to look into your webserver and php configuration and see if you can increase the max_execution_time setting to allow for long running processes
