Problem with Manufacturers list.

Hi,

If anyone can help, I'd greatly apprecuate it. I currently have our stores site up here http://bit.ly/bIs8uP but since PS isn't great for selling books, I've hit a wall.

Sure they give you a column for EAN13's, but nothing for authors. I've put the author's names in 'manufacturers' but I need a way to have the name clickable to show a list of titles by that author, and when browsing categories, have the author name come up under the book title.

Can this be done?

I suggest entering the authors as tags at the bottom of the "1. Info" tab of the product editor, then installing the "Tag cloud" module. That will display a tag cloud of authors on your tag. If you click on any of the authors, a search for all products with that tag will appear.

The only problem is the appearance of the tag cloud. You will need to modify the blocktags module so that it displays the authors in a list like the manufacturers block instead of as a tag cloud.

Also, I suggest that you put the ISBN in the Reference field if you want the ISBN to be searchable using the search bar on your website. PrestaShop indexes the Reference field, but not the EAN13 field.

Cheers for the reply, Rocky, though it's not really the solution I'm after. Does anyone know if there's a way to do it?

Also, do you know why PS bothers giving you an option for the EAN13 if they don't bother doing anything with it?

Anyone? Can someone from Prestashop tell us why you have an option for EAN13's when you can't search by them, and why there's no option to add author names?
