(resolved) 404 error when trying to install on dreamhost?

Hi all -

super noob and graphic designer here, trying to install Prestashop 1.3.3 on Dreamhost. I've created my database at "subdomain.mysite.com" and I've tried uploading the prestashop folder contents to "mysite.com/presta" both through Dreamweaver and through a direct ftp dump. I keep getting a 404 error at "mysite.com/presta" and "mysite.com/presta/install"

I checked the permissions in Dreamweaver and everything looks correct. I've read on the forums that Dreamhost should currently be a default install and not require any tweaking.

Can anyone help with ideas I can try to solve this? I'd really like to start using Prestashop for my ecommerce clients.
