davin
I am setting up my store and I have come to the point of shipping charges. From what I can tell in the backend you can just set fixed shipping prices for items.I would like to set it up so the weight for each item is in the shopping cart and charges the customer according to the UPS rates to their zip code. How can this be done? Do I need an additional module?I did a search and saw presto chango's (tomerg) module..and didnt see much else. Also, his at this time only allows for one box dimension and I will have many different size boxes.Any thoughts, or have I overlooked anything? Thanks for the help! tomerg3
As far as I know, there is only 1 more UPS module (a free one in the forum), I doubt it supports multiple size packages, and I'm not sure if it's up to date with the latest PS release. davin
Thanks for the fast reply tomerg3! I just talked to my drop shipper. He mentioned not even using box sizes and just going by weight and zip codes for certain products. Can I do that with your module or do I have to have some sort of box size inputted? tomerg3
It uses the same options as on the UPS site, there are a few box options for shipping, some do not require a size. You can check out the demo backend to see all the options.
tomerg3
I am in the final beta stages of a new version of the module, which allows for multiple package support. It lets you enter multiple box sizes that you use for shipping, and automatically calculates how many boxes / sizes are needed to fit the product in the cart (using their dimensions and weight). If anyone is interested in seeing a demo / helping to beta test, contact me. otts
First of all let me say that I recently purchased the UPS module and I love it. I do have one question, however, that you might be able to help me with. I am not sure where I should post this since it involves Prestashop's default weight being set at KG. The module works fine when I convert LBS to KG which is not a problem for me but it seems to bother the person I am helping with the Prestashop site. My question is this, Is there any way to set the default weight for Prestashop from KG to LBS? I have seen a couple of threads on here suggesting to make the changes in the code, but this changes the name only and not the value. I need to pass the actual value to the module in LBS not in KG. Is this possible? If not, I can make do converting LBS to KG, but the shop owner is American and only deals in LBS and seems to have a mental hangup having to use KG.Thank you for your help and again, I love this module!!!
