I am a new user to Prestashop and am trying to load seating products that have accessories such as armrests, upgrades to a different base etc. I have tried using the accessories option but can't seem to get this right. Do I have to load each product separately with its own price?

You can use the "Attributes and groups" option to create a single product with upgrade options. For example, create an attribute group called "Base" with attributes "Base 1", "Base 2", etc. You can then use the proudct combinations generator on the "3. Combinations" tab of the product editor to add the options to the product and specify price impacts.

Ok, let's take this to the next level.

I have a product pack made of a base (three variants per model), a filter (6 color options), and a grill (48 current options).

I also need to be able to track inventory for each base type, each filter color, and each grill style.

Thoughts?

I don't think PrestaShop can handle that many attributes at the moment. You will likely need to use Attribute Wizard Pro to do it.
