Product images will not load

Hello, I am working with a Client and installing a Prestashop store for them, Everthing is going well except for we cannot get the Product images to load, they are under 20000KB and are in a JPG format, When you edit the item and add the picture, it will give a General CGI mishandle error and When you go back there's sometimes 101 of the same Item in the store. is there something I need to give permissions to for writing?
