Any Actually Fast Prestashop Sites?

New to Presetashop, but already seriously thinking of switching to another ecommerce platform.

I've applied all the speed optimizations I can find on this and other forums, but it's still just plain slow.

Before starting out with another platform (osCommerce perhaps), I wanted to know if this is just a real problem with Prestashop or with my site (hosting, configuration, template etc....)

Anyone out there have a real eCommerce Prestashop site with hundreds of products and actually running fast (1-2 seconds response)?

Try PrestaShop v1.4 before giving up. It has many SQL and caching improvements. It also has a new Performance tab that lets you combine, compress and cache content, enable Smarty caching and memcaching and load content from multiple servers.

Be careful which theme and third-party modules you use too. Some of them can really slow down your site.

Hi there,

Seems to me that PS team is neglecting V1.3 leaving it incomplete while pushing V1.4 which is at very early stages of development (not even a beta version).

In any case it will take very long time before V1.4 will become stable, so check it out in a few months... There is no info. on final version of 1.3

check my site. Have a lot of mods (language, location detection, jquery 1.4 , etc)
and dont load slow

I just installed 1.4.02 for testing purpose. The performance seems improved a lot, but not 100% quite sure, will keep watching for a while. Hope IT IS improved, I also think that 1.3.0 is slow to load.

Thanks for all the posts. I will await version 1.4. I really do think prestashop is the best ecommerce CMS out there, but the speed seem to be it's only weakness. even a 2-3 second improvement would mean lots (especially as we add more products and categories, and modules to our shop).
