billakos
Hello, what are the laws for selling photos of public areas, archaeological sites, protests, riots etc ?I mean, i could be (among others) in a photo being sold for months or years now and i don't know of it. I want to start a site selling such photos. Something like a fotofolio.Thank you.
Marinary
i think if your are the owner of the picture you could sell itand you must not damage the right of person in the photo too....i think it is the most importan.
billakos
What do you mean the right of person? its a another thing to have a photoshoot than having a protests and a riot. In the second and third one you can't pay for it. if thats what you mean. wasn't it?
ruben6
The laws are different in each country, in most countries you can sell photo's of public places. But in some you have to have a consent of the people in the picture. Also photographs of some buildings can't be sold freely.
billakos
Do i have to check my Countrys laws (difficult to find) or is there a source site for picture laws where i can find what law is on for me?
tomerg3
Considering the potential consequences, I think you need to do your research somewhere else and not ask people in this forum. In case you get a lawsuit, I don't think you can claim that "someone in the prestashop forum said it was OK". billakos
I understand that and I apologise. I thought maybe someone could know. Thank you for your time.
tomerg3
There's nothing to apologize about, I was merely suggesting that in such an important matter, you should seek some professional help.Good luck with the project.
