Stats display visitors as 127.255.255.255

I'm having an issue with the statistics module, recording visitors IP's as 127.255.255.255.
I'm doubting they are human visitors as they are always on the 404 page and never visit anywhere else, they're also coming in through direct link

I am using version 1.3.2.3 and I'm not using any custom modules.

I've tried to google around to see if it is a server related issue and can't find anything, so was wondering if anyone here can be of help.

I don't think this IP address is specific computer address. address 127.0.0.1 - 127.255.255.255 is reserved range.

I sent that to prestashop, statistics are incomplete with this problem.

Has there been any additional information about why site visitors show up as 127.255.255.255 and how to fix the problem .. is it a PrestaShop configuration? server configuration? what exactly is causing it? thanks..

You should find table ps_connections and change data type of field ip_address to bigint. Its explains here http://haveamint.com/forum/troubleshooting/2104/details_on_the_127_255_255_255_problem&anno=2

This should cure the problem, it certainly did so for me : In the database - table "ps_connections" field "ip_address": make the "attribute" "unsigned" instead of leaving it blank.
