Link to database cannot be established: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection timed out

Hello,

I have installed my 1.6.1.10 Prestashop database on an OVH VPS with Ubuntu Server 16.04.  That's a test for a new connector between our ERP and Prestashop. It has to access the DB by a 3306 port and it wasn't possible to access it with a shared hosting.

I've installed MySQL, PhpMyAdmin on the server to put the database, since then I can go on the test website, it works back and front but I get some

"Link to database cannot be established: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection timed out"

At first I thought it was the connector which was too demanding but I noticed there was timeouts even when the connector is off.

It appears most of the time on the back office, on the product tabs (the first tab would be charged, the 2nd too, the 3rd timed out, the 4th timed out... and it's random).

I tried to change the settings of MySQL on the server (the wait timeout...) but it doesn't change anything.

The link to the database is good otherwise I won't be able to navigate through the website.

Has anyone ever had the same problem ?

 

I never had that problem when the database was on a share hosting.

The website's files are still on a shared hosting.

I got back to MySQL 5.6 because I had 5.7 and it caused some dates problem on Prestashop. But that didn't do anything.

I also tried other databases that works on a shared hosting but it still does timeouts.
