white boxes around my thumbnail pics

for example viewed products on the left and top sellers on the right have thumb nail pics and they leave a white box around the pic on the blue back ground how can I stop this?

Since the thumbnails are JPGs, you can't give them transparency. You can only change the white background colour to another colour. For example, to make the thumbnails have a black background instead of a white one, edit images.inc.php in the root directory of PrestaShop and change all 255, 255, 255 to 0, 0, 0 then regenerate your thumbnails. Use whichever RGB code for the blue colour you want.
