Database error

I'm a newbie here, so please bear with me

I'm attempting to install Prestashop, but I can't get pass the database configuration. I have shared hosting on Linux with Godaddy and I put in all of my correct database login information, but I still get the error message "You have to create a database, help available in readme_en.txt".

First of all, if you can, leave godaddy, they are one of the worse hosting companies I ever seen / had the displeasure of using.

You need to create the database from the control panel before you can have Prestashop create the tables (it will not be able to create the Database for you).

I actually plan on leaving godaddy next month! I agree that they are ridiculous!

I'm sorry I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean I need to create the database before I upload the prestashop file?

..Or do you mean just create a database in the godaddy control panel? If so, I already did. I have all my login information after I setup that database, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've never had trouble setting up databases before?

You need to create the Database before you try to validate the database.

If you cannot, then probably one of the settings is incorrect, (perhaps the database name is not the same)

Oh, right. I created it before I tried to validate it in Prestashop. Any suggestions?
