CSV import in admin - Images not importing

hi guys
i am trying to use the csv import function in v 1.3 - and i am getting this error message:
can´t copy image: path...

My error log is showing this error:
PHP Warning: htmlentities() [function.htmlentities]: Invalid multibyte sequence in argument in /xxxx/docs/classes/Tools.php on line 737

I have set rights to 777 on both path i am importing from (both dir´s and files), and also the /img/p/ folder is 777.

please help.
