Brands for each category in sidebar

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I'm creating a perfume based ecommerce site using Prestashop. I want to have main categories on the menu (e.g. perfumes, skin care, bath and body) and when you select one of these categories a list of brands that have products in this category in the sidebar (e.g. Dior).

Any advice on how to do this?

Thanks

nigel

No replies. Not even Rocky.......so no one has needed this? It is pretty standard stuff in ecommerce sites e.g. http://www.escentual.com/. Click on 'Fragrances' and a list of brands with the Fragrances, and number of products for each, is shown in the left sidebar. I'm a bit surprised Prestashop doesn't have this already. Very limiting and such a lack of functionality, compared with, say, Magento, is going to reduce uptake for all but the most basic of eshops.

Anyone fancy coding this? It would have to be a sellable module for many people.....including me........PM me if soneone is willing to do it....

Hi

yes to an extent. I have modified a plugin I found that allows filtering. See springperfumes.co.uk to see this implemented. The site is up at the moment, but not live for purchasing. I may take it down again as it is not yet complete...

Thanks for replying Nigel. I see that you have given PRICE RANGES on the left side. How did you do that? Please let me know. I'll be waiting for your reply. I also have an upcoming perfume store.
