Whenever I try to modify the product that you want to move to another category, it shows me an error: The product must be in the starting category.

How can I completely remove this restriction?

You shouldn't remove this restriction, since it was a fix added to PrestaShop v1.3.2 to fix problems caused by product having a default category that the product isn't actually in. It's important to change the default category too when you move a product from one category to another.

I don't understand. You should be able to put a product in a category and subcategory without any error message as long as one of those categories is set as the default category. I don't understand why changing the discount would cause that error. I can't even find that error message in the code.

As I've already explained, its because you haven't ticked the default category you have selected in the dropdown. Seeing that video confirms it. In that video, the second category box should be ticked, since it is selected in the dropdown.
