which picture file shows 'new' icon in product overview?

hi, seems I am missing that little 'new' file which I had some time before. Recently set 'period during which an item is new' to 0 and when I reverted now back to 10 days there is a 'gap', i.e. no icon but just the product title. anybody please direct me to the file name of the new icon and in which folder it should be placed?

It is themes/yourtheme/img/flag_new_bg.jpg that is used for the background of the "New" icon.

hm, but wasn't that a jpg or gif, different for every language. it was not just a background with some text on it if I remember correctly.

No, the text isn't embedded in the image. The "On sale" images have the text embedded, but not the "New" image. It is just text you can change using translations.

thx, rocky but I need to come back here. Where would I find these translation in the BO then? In FO translations I see in section 'product' the on sale and price lowered but nothing related to new?

yeah, found it. funnily I have this deactivated = empty since I want to use a custom jpg instead. have to further dig into this, can hardly remember myself when I did what. Anyway, I used indeed the flag_new_bg as custom icon.
