bjones
Hello everyone.I have products that have descriptions written separately as RTF Files. I can import these files OK, but the text actually is shown as RTF codes and do not appear as intended. Does anyone know if this is possible? I need to keep the formatting and doing one at a time is not an option. +5,000 products. The Editor does not support loading files. Any ideas? Thanks! rocky
You could open the RTF file in Microsoft Word, then copy the text and use the "Paste from Word" option in TinyMCE to paste the formatted text and clean up the code.
bjones
I knew I could do that. But is not practical when doing +5,000 products. :shut:
bjones
I guess no solution to my problem? Do I have to give up PrestaShop?
rocky
If it is important to use RTF format, then you can't use PrestaShop, since it only lets you import descriptions in HTML format. Can you convert all the RTFs into HTML format in your CSV?
bjones
:wow: Yes! Absolutely! I already had them converted to html. Let me try and I'll get back to you. Thanks for the tip!
bjones
Well, you were right about the format. The descriptions are html. The problem I have now is that there are several html types. I dont' know what type PS uses. The program I use convert the rtf to html converts them to full page html with code that PS doesn't like. So... until I find a way to convert them properly I'm stuck with it. I have considered converting the rtf into plain text which PS can do without problems, then go from there. Until then I will close the thread and mark it as solved. Thanks for your input.
