Can't moove cattegories from footer to left side bar or horizontal menu

Hello to everyone, i am new with Prestashop and i have some problems with location of cattegories. I spent a lot of precious time reading in forums and web but still no answer. I have one final problem with my e-commerce store for auto parts. The cattegories are five and on the default bootstrap theme they are appearing in footer. I want to moove them in left sidebar and next to them to be slider. I have tried by enabling left column by the theme settings, also by editing top horizontal menu and everything else. Please help me to finalize the project. Thanks to everyone for their help! Greetings from Bulgaria!
