Redirect to new page with errors

Hi,

 

I have a custom form at homepage, and, of course, I want to handle the errors (like empty email or name). Problem: if I redirect to homepage in controller after do things, I lose the errors (because "redirect" opens a new sesion and you lose variables), so how can I do it? I have seen other controllers and they use "setTemplate", but how can I set index template? Or is there other solution?
