How to start with a certain category products instead of homefeatured products

Hi all. (hope I've chosen right category for the topic)

I need to make a change in the way my shop will look. I need it display on homepage products from a certain (once chosen by me) category. I don't need homefeatured products displaying there. So i would like somehow to make the shop start with a view of a category but not the main rather i.e. ipods.

If someone type www.myshop.com he/she should see ipods category where normally are homefeatured products.
