Top Horizontal Menu with Side Sub Menu

Hi,

First of all, im looking for a top horizontal menu which will show my main categories.

I would like it to drop down for categories containing sub categories. Like www.next.co.uk (not just a plain single column)



My other way to do it would be to just have the main categories along the top without the drop down feature. And then then once clicked on the main category the sub cat's are shown down the left column, like this: http://www.buyagift.co.uk/Category/Id/508/Name/Hobbies?cm_sp=topnav-_-Hobbies-_-a

Its at the top where you see the gradient banner and the link saying "Account", "News", "Forum", "Store","People"","Developer" top of the page (just above the search box).
