Kelvin Ong
Hi,I've set:-Billing - Choice of range --> According to total weightFees by carrier, geographical zone, and ranges -->> as per attached screen shotI've made test run and found that the shipping cost is max and not according to setting. My question might bit confuse and hope someone can understand and give a hand on this.
Kelvin Ong
Hi,While waiting for someone to reply, I've read on this -->> http://www.prestashop.com/wiki/Shipping/It seems like I've followed all these steps in order, wondering if I've missed out somewhere. rocky
The Wiki instructions are wrong. The ranges should overlap. For example, 0-0.5kg, 0.5-1kg, etc, not 0-5kg, 0.51kg-1kg, etc.
Kelvin Ong
Rocky,I'm bit confuse.(1) Wrong0kg - 0.5kg0.51kg - 1kg1.01kg - 1.5kg(2) Correct0kg - 0.5kg0.5kg - 1kg1kg - 1.5kgIt is suppose to set as (2)?
rocky
That's right. The first number in the range is inclusive and the second number in the range is exclusive.
Kelvin Ong
Rocky,I've amended it and made the test run. The result become:-Item weight: 0.5kgChargable weight:-0 - 0.5kg = 5.700.5 - 1kg = 14.00The shipping cost become 14.00, by right the shipping cost is only 5.70 unless the item is more than 0.5kg. What should I do now? Change the item weight become 0.49kg?
Kelvin Ong
Rocky,I noticed another problem.Item weight:- 0.2kgChargeable rate:-0 - 0.5kg = 5.700.5 - 1kg = 8.201 - 1.5kg = 10.70Let say the customer purchased 5 units = 5 X 0.2kg = 1kgSo, the customer should pay 8.20 right? But now the shipping cost is 10.
rocky
It looks like you want exclusive inclusive instead of the inclusive exclusive that PrestaShop uses. In that case, you will have to use 0-0.4999kg, 0.4999-0.9999kg, etc. Change the number of nines depending on how many decimal places you are using in your weights. Kelvin Ong
Rocky,Let say now I use your method, it will become.New Method0kg - 0.4999kg - 5.700.5kg - 0.9999kg - 8.201kg - 1.4999kg - 10.70Old Method0 – 0.5kg = 5.700.5 – 1kg = 8.201 – 1.5kg = 10.70Item weight = 0.2kg X 5 = 1kgBy right customer have to pay for 8.20, butOld Method:- PS will charge accordingly to 1 - 1.5kg which is 10.70(by right should be 8.20)New Method: PS will charge accordingly to 1kg - 1.4999kg which is 10.70(the correct cost should be 8.20 for item not more or = 1kg)Hope you get what I mean here. rocky
It's difficult to understand. Hopefully, this will work:0kg – 0.5001kg – 5.700.5001kg – 1.0001kg – 8.201.0001kg – 1.5001kg – 10.
Vegaanders
Just to add to the confusion.I have 2 carriers configured. One cheap that handles packages up to 5 kg and on more expensive that handles packages from 0 to 25 kg. But if a customer buy a product with weight 6 kg he can still choose the cheap carrier. This is a big problem. What can be done about it exept buying a module for 150 euro that noone in the forum have any comments on and that require core modificationsRegardsAnders Yuran
