[solved] can one edit the order status emails?

Hi

In testing the order status emails I have found some of the content to be not relevent eg tracking for my carrier.

Is there a facility or somewhere where I can edit these emails?

PrestaShop v1.4 has the option to edit mail templates from the translations tab. Until it is released, you'll have to manually modify the mail templates in the mails directory. They are divided by language iso code.

I have found the folder with the emails - however, I notice that there is a text and HTML version.

Does PS automatically convert the changed text email into HTML? or does one have to edit the HTML directly?

You must edit the HTML manually. By default, PrestaShop sends both the HTML and TXT emails, so you need to modify both of them. The customer's email client will decide which one to display.
