(SOLVED)Need help generating .htaccess file

Hi

I created and uploaded a blank .htaccess.txt file to the server. I did set permission to 666 and enabled friendly url in BO and it's not working.

In back office under preference I did enabled friendly URL and clicked on generate... to go on the next page and I dint see any .htaccess generator button. I see the robot.txt button but not the .htaccess generator button.

I did call the hosting provider to confirm what I needed to know.

What am I missing?

Any help much appreciated.

Your file name is wrong. There should be no extension ".txt" for .htaccess
