Pursuant
I have set up two sandbox accounts for paypal -- a business and a personal one. I have all the settings in the back office set correctly, and I have set the validate page in paypal preferences. I can make a payment, everything goes really smoothly -- the payment shows up in the business one and is subtracted from the personal one, but the order status is ALWAYS "Payment Error". What causes this error? --Kevin
Peter Wilson
Hi Ox40, Which version of PrestaShop are you using? Have you customized the Paypal theme/template? Do you get any kind of error message within the Messages section on the Order page in the Back Office?
Pursuant
That was v9.5, but I upgraded to 9.6 yesterday and have not had the chance to test it. I had not edited any part of the module...The error was "Payment Error".

Peter Wilson
Hello, We have been working on a solution but so far without success. :-[ This is partly because it is a bug that only appears for certain users. Has anyone checked to see the error occurs in 0.9.7?
Pursuant
That exact error has changed slightly in 9.6... now it doesn't calculate shipping! All the paypal stuff works, but the back office says "Warning, $199.99 payed instead of $204.16"...
syao
This problem come when default currency isn't USD. To make sure this problem come from Currency, after making an order on the shop then prestashop showing Payment Error on order history, you should check your Paypal Account History if the problem come from different currency, you need to take action with incoming transaction "Accept" or " Deny". Solution: Change your Paypal Primary currency Profile > Manage Currency Balances to your default shop currency. I hope this can help you out
rudee
I have been having the same problem... It's weird it only gives me a payment error for three items only. The rest of the shop works. I'm still using 0.9.7 I'm also getting "Error Detected. Your shopping cart is empty." when I want to order one of these particular items. This is strange because I have added some new products recently and those are behaving normally. Anybody knows what's going on?
rudee
I may have found a solution! The three items that were causing me trouble all had " " in their name (eg. "sticker"). I have also changed their product code too. I got rid of the quotation marks and now it's fixed!
