justdogwalking.com
Hi I am in the process of setting up my prestashop on the web now and am testing various elements as I go.I am not technically very savy so I hope someone can offer a simple response. When I send an email/message from the "contact" page of prestashop it gets sent but when it arrives in my OE is is covered in techinical stuff like thisThis is a message in multipart MIME format. Your mail client should not be displaying this. Consider upgrading your mail client to view this message correctly.--_=_swift-9560347324cc0267fe4d552.09446752_=_Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="_=_swift-1414002314cc0267fe4e599.77506125_=_"Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit--_=_swift-1414002314cc0267fe4e599.77506125_=_Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bitCan anyone help me resolve this issue? Is it prestashop or OE or something etirely different? Thanks
rocky
It seems your email client doesn't support multipart emails. Try using another client that does. Outlook Express has been replaced by Windows Live Mail now. You could try a webmail client instead if you don't want to upgrade your software. justdogwalking.com
Thanks very much You are the only person out of many I have appraoched on this issue (I had presumed it was not a prestashop issue) that has been able to explain what is happening and what I need to do.I will now see if I can make the solution happen. Thanks again
justdogwalking.com
Whilst looking at solutions for this issue I suddenly thought that if I cannot use OE or Outlook to receive emails from Prestashop "contact" then any customers - the majority of whom will be using OE or Outlook, will have the same problem. Can any users of Prestashop let me know their experience in getting messages from the contact page of prestashop? Are you using OE or Outlook OK?Thanks
justdogwalking.com
Is anyone able to help I feel I am now stuck because the "contact" email facility does not work for me.Thanks
rocky
You could try going to Preferences > Email and sending only TXT versions instead of HTML and TXT. Perhaps the TXT versions will display properly in Outlook Express.
justdogwalking.com
Thanks NC for the suggestion to set emails at just "text" regretably no solution.I would appreciate any further diagnosis that might take us to a solution.I have attached a scanned copy of the actual email I receive from my Prestashop - the last few lines of the "code" have been cut off to get it all on an A4 page. The message was received in OUTLOOK (which seems to be set to the MIME option.)Interestingly I am unable to forward this email - it just gets blocked so there must be sumething odd going on.Any further thoughts would be very much appreciated. Thanks Mail0010.PDF
