Database issue

Ok, i have done this before with no problem, but no i am having issues!

I have installed Wampserver 2.0 and prestashop but I keep getting stock on step 3 of installation getting error: "Database server was not found. Please verify the login, password, and database server name fields."

I have created a new DB called "MYSHOP"for now, as required . .Am i suppose to do anything with this DB? Do i add any tables or fields or do i leave it blank?

And when i get on step 3, do i leave all the default values (database server=localhost, database name=prestashop, login=root, password=mypassword) ? Do i need to change database name to MYSHOP?

i did a search in forum and can see that others had the same issue but they are not talking local DB .. please resolve this before i kill myself
