[SOLVED] Internet Explorer problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently updated my homepage text in my editorial module, and having just checked the site in IE8, I notice that the text does not display, and the rest of the home page doesn't load. Instead of the text it just shows <!--[endif]--> <!--[endif]-->

Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it??! Any help is gratefully received!

Ok I figured out what is causing it, but not why.

As prestashop only puts the h2 and h3 tags on the text you enter in the fields above the text editor, I used the html editor to add h2 tags to all headings in my text and h3 tags to all subheadings. It displays fine in firefox, but IE doesn't like it.

Is there a way I can make IE like it, or do I have to duplicate the editorial module for each section of text on my homepage? Because that would suck.

I have removed the tags for the time being and the text is displaying properly again, but I have also realised that IE8 is not displaying the 'feature products' block. I really don't like IE, but since most of my visitors are using it I have to figure this out.

Any advice would be really appreciated!

Btw I am using prestashop 1.1

Right, I think I got to the root of the problem. I had pasted my text into the box in the editorial module from a Word document, and somehow it inserted a bunch of weird html which confused IE. Deleting the weird html fixed the problem. Sorry I can't be more technical, I don't really want to replicate the problem to show you what the weird html was. Now I'd better put all those tags back again...
